TAMIL SCHOOL CHARITY 9/7/2009

Well well well, since RageIndian mention my name "theeyes05" in his blog about what we did on 9/7/2009 (Memorable day in this year), i should thank him and share few words with you all. Even this was my second charity, (first was "Sri Lankan War Victims Charity Car Wash"), this was special as well, because its for our local kids and for their future. As you all read the posts in ragedindian.com and makkez.com.... i would like add some about that charity day. Basically its small Tamil school in palm oil forest the road was terrible ( Manalmedu'le), the kids travel from their colony to school by using tractor.

The school got main door, but not for some class rooms, some class dont have window also, however they manage to have fans in every class... i saw they are using 1 laptop and 1 TV (they jz fixed, kinda old also). No canteen for students, they got RMT (Rancangan Makanan Tambahan) for everyone. Toilet quite far from the claz room, no water when we went in (only in bucket). emmm...small library as well.

After we gave them what we bought for them, the KFC and Meehun, they was very happy, kids as usual kinda naughty with us, interview them was a difficult job for us, they were run here and there. Biasathane! :) down here would some photos that i snapped:

Finally, this Charity is already a big Success, the reason is you guys who helped us by donate and with your supports. Next time, i would like to suggest you guys to donate RM1 each (at least) together with your friends (RM1=teh tarik at the mamak stall) . It would help our pupil for their education and for a good life. At least for this we have to unite our self as 1 team, so that our children's future will be more brighter. Again, thank you for your supports and we always appreciate you all. May The GOD bless you always!!!

Thoranai is an ‘unadulterated formula film’ which has commercial elements packaged at the right mix. The movie which proceeds at quick pace post-interval seems to have lost his way towards the second half. It becomes more clichéd and predictable. At many places the dialogues too give one a feel of having been heard before many times.

It seems a simple story base...but they managed to come out with a entertainment movie. u noe what i mean... in this movie, without comedy scene and 3 nice songs, this movie would be fail. Comedy scene with all the characters in this movie will make to run for few weeks. " NOT BAD" i mean, and it not boring as well... Kollywood should stop taking a fight sequence flying here and there...they no need "bantha" actually.... they are good enough. But i duno why they doing this to their cinema.

Well, Vishal and Shriya is good pair. Sheriya is preety and her acting is good. vishal's fight is good as well...

Manisharma's BGM should change! some BGM, u will feel his previous movies!

My rating: 6/10

Yes, life can change in a flash, but what is more important is how we deal with the change. There are some who drown themselves into sorrow and self pity while there are others who look at what remains and try to find happiness. Sarvvam shows the clash of wills of two people who deal in different ways to the losses they faced in their life.

Sarvvam is a move that rides on its visuals throughout. An enjoyable first half is negated by a slack second. Half way into the second half, the first seems like a distant memory. Vishnuvardhan has proved that as a director he has got lots of flair and style. It is the writing that lets him down. Go for Sarvvam only for the beautiful visuals and the Arya-Trisha chemistry. The second half might make you fell a bit impatient at times. The thrills and suspense are missing, much to our dismay.

this movie is 50% out of vishnu's movie...the trills in first half..is not in the second half... and the beauty in first half, is not in the second half... Lastly, there are songs in the movie as a back bone for this movie... illayaraja's old songs as a bgm, creates a impact when listen to it and the remix part is the best... hats of Yuvan and to his father. HOpe Vishnu's next movie give back what he expect!

started with non-movie musical album titled ‘Vallavan’ that drew more attention on these Malaysia based pop-hip hop groups. They were more popularized as they moved into films’ songs and finally, MC Jaase amongst them launched first Tamil music album ‘Kavithai Gundar’ and that has gone far-famed doing good business. Getting to watch the best performance on both tracks as well video, Director R.N.R. Manohar has offered him to be a part in one song from his ‘Maasilamani’.

Starring Nakul and Sunaina in lead roles, D. Imman has scored music and MC will be featured alongside Nakul and Sunaina for a song ‘Odi Vilaiyaadal Vaada’. According to the sources, grand sets have been erected in AVM Studios and shooting for this song will hit the floors from May 7 and go on till next day…

As against the usual practice, the audio launch of 'Muthirai', directed by Srinath, had relatively lesser number of guests, shorter speeches, focused on the film. The project, which is more a tribute to the late director Jeeva, is co produced by his wife, Aneez Tanveer, written by her, directed by his assistant and friend Srinath, apart from being captured on lens by his student Saleem. One of Jeeva’s regulars, Harris Jayaraj, was not part of the project, but Yuvan’s tunes, as the songs that were screened suggested, did not lack in lilt or pep either.

Chief Guest of the launch was director Gautham Vasudev Menon, who received the first copy of the audio CD from producer Vikram Bhatt. Daniel Balaji, Nithin Sathya and Manjari, the lead characters, were present on stage as well.

“I really respect Aneez’s hardwork to make this dream of Jeeva’s a reality. And I also am a big fan of Yuvan Shankar Raja, whose music I really enjoyed even in the recent flick, 'Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum'. I hope to work with him sometime,” said Gautham Menon, while Aneez recounted that Jeeva was originally approached to work with Gautham for 'Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu', but the offer could not be taken up.

The audio launch of the film also served as the occasion for two more projects to be announced: both produced by Vikram Bhatt’s ASA Productions. “One will be directed by Aneez and the cast is yet to be finalized. The other will be directed by Manikandan, Gautham’s assistant and has Nithin Sathya in the lead. GV Prakash scores the music of this film which is called 'Pin Kurippu',” announced Bhatt.

Kavithai Gundar Songs and released album!!!

Kavithai Gundar, the maiden album by the production label Studio 8 and record, was launched amidst much fanfare at Hotel Green Park on Saturday. Launching the album was none other than Shruthi Haasan, singer recently turned music composer.

The album features popular hop singers Neha Bhasin, Emcee Jesz and MC Loga and has a good 13 tracks. Launching the label’s website www.studioeight.in was Hansraj Saxena, Sun TV, and COO.

Two of the songs in the album, Thaniye and Bad Boys, have also been made into interesting videos. The team is all set to take on a journey to Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Europe and Sri Lanka where Emcee Jesz and MC Loga already have a wide following.

Log on to the new hop era with this album, which is already making waves for its innovative title and songs.

I now only started to listen, some very nice... especially thaniye song sung by Neha Bhasin, hope you all like it. Tamilanz Rockz.

Suriya...best and suit character after vaaranam ayiram.
Tamanna...she wonderful with her eyes, her acting is good as well. they are good pair!. but, he always JO!
Prabhu sir, no words to say...he is still maintaining his good work in all his movie.
Harris...attract nowdays people with his melodies songs, vizhi modi...and nenje nenje is cool. and sumtimes his music recall his previous albums. emmmm!
Karunas...from nandha...pithamagan....now in ayan with suriya... hatrick for him. comedy not much, but still good. u will enjoy, sure!.
overall, this movie is filled with love, action, comedy, science and technology as well.
no doubts, nowdays people will like it.

Ilayaraja is beyond awards like Oscar, says A.R Rahman

All the media came together last evening. This was for the formal interview by the Isai Puyal who has just returned to Chennai after winning the Oscars.

The proud mama Garima Begum made a grand feast to welcome her son while the media got ready for the live telecast of the interview. As AR Rehman entered the room at 4.15pm , the press greeted him with joyful cries and claps. Rehman started by apologizing for oversleeping due to jet lag and hence his being delayed in arriving at the press meet.

There was a commotion as the press photographers vied with each other to photograph Rehman. "Please don't squabble. I won't run away. I will pose for everyone," said Rehman but the scramble and commotion did not end, so Rehman playfully quipped, "OK, then I think I will leave." That worked and everyone settled down.

Here is what Rehman said:

"I did not expect that I would win an Oscar for 'Slumdog Millionaire.' Just because I won an award for this, I cannot say that this is the best film I've worked in. What I could say is, among the Hollywood films I've composed music for, this is the best. Hollywood is full of praise that this is the best film of Danny Boyle.

I may have stepped into Hollywood and won an Oscar, but I will still compose music for Tamil films. However, I will be very careful about my choice. I'm positive that other Indian composers, especially from Tamilnadu, will also win Oscars. There's an effort to set Thirukkural to music. I spent sleepless nights before the Oscar. I was practicing for the stage show. After the award was announced, prominent personalities like Steven Spielberg and Michael Jackson congratulated me. Tamil film personalities also conveyed their best wishes to me. Yuvan sent me an email that his father and family were very happy to hear the good news."

What about the adverse criticism about 'Slumdog Millionaire'?

"The story is about a poor boy, who wins a game show and comes up in life. This film will give encouragement to the young generation."

You could have mentioned the Srilankan Tamils during the Oscar speech?

"That would politicize the function. The Oscar stage is not the right setting for such talk. No one wants people to die at war. I also want peace to prevail in Srilanka. I pray to God for that."
If you are given an MP post, would you accept it?

"Gosh! That would become a bigger matter than Oscar. Please let me be!"

Why is it that Indian films continue to not get the Oscar?

"A worthy film would definitely win the award. Japanese and Iranian films also get Oscar awards. I did think earlier that 'Lagaan' may win an Oscar. Surely Tamil films could also get the distinction."

Hindraf , demanding proper medical treatment for Uthayakumar

Chaos broke out at the Brickfields police station this morning as the police sprayed chemical-laced water into about 300 supporters of detained Hindraf leader P Uthayakumar.

A crowd of more than 100 people turned up around 11am today at the Brickfields police station here to lodge police reports against the alleged mistreatment of ISA detainee, S. Uthayakumar, who is suffering from diabetes.

17 people, including the wives of Uthayakumar and fellow Hindraf leader, the London-based P. Waythamoorthy, were arrested.

A.R Rahman won Two Oscar Awards..WOW!

Not one but two Oscars to the legend of Indian music. A.R. Rahman has created history winning two Oscars for the Danny Boyle film the 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Rahman won the awards for the Best Original Song for 'Jai Ho..' and the Best Original Score. The film that was nominated in ten categories has swept the Academy Awards night winning eight Oscars. Rahman said he was blessed that his mother was with him. He said he always had a choice in life between love and hate and he chose love.

This is the first time that an Indian is walking away with two Oscars and also this is the first time that two Indians are receiving Oscars in the same year. Resul Pookutty has received an award for the best sound mixing. All the channels are abuzz with tele-cons with the child artists, the actors and all associated with the film that has created history. Veteran singers including Lata Mangeshkar and K.J. Yesudas have congratulated Rahman for creating history.

'Slumdog' has emerged as the personal favorite for many!

Politicians including Sonia Gandhi and P. Chidambaram have congratulated both the Indians for making the country proud. It was just great to see the entire 'Slumdog' team come to the dais when Slumdog won the best picture award.

Well, the God is here..and the best is here... 2009 make a history in India...

Well congrats to the entire 'Slumdog Millionaire' team and specially to ARR and Resul Pookutty for creating history and bring honour to India, Jai Hind!!!

Have you heard about the recent news that spreading among the e-society? there are news leak that A.R. RAHMAN's name does not find a place in the list. What the hell? people spreading stupid thing or what?

"As per the spoilsport document, Slumdog Millionaire is the best film and its director Danny Boyle is the best director. While Kate Winslet has been adjudged the best actress, Mickey Rourke is the best actor as per the document. The representatives of the Oscar Committee have said that no such document ever existed and ballot counting is still on."

With such an assurance from the Oscar Committee, let us hope that Rahman gets the much deserved Oscar and do India proud! Lets pray for it..........................

I watched Naan Kadavul last week... About the review, in simple way... it is kinda confusing story... anyway, i dont wanna talk mush about the movie,

Pooja- Great! She is a talented actress! she Proved here!
Other chacther in this movie- the bagger group! is the back-bone of this movie!

Well, On Thursday, it was actress Pooja's turn, who played a blind beggar in the movie to have a tete-a-te with 'Super Star' Rajinikanth. Pouring accolades on Pooja for her extra-ordinary performance in 'Naan Kadavul', Rajinikanth said during the meet that she has proved herself to be a talented actress. He also made anxious enquiries about her forthcoming projects.

A thrilled Pooja presented Rajinikanth with a 'holy' shawl, which her father had gifted to her requesting her to present it to a man whom she respects a lot.

She adds: 'I had never met him before this meet and I was wonderstruck. Rajini sir is such a down-to-earth person. He presented me with a picture of Sri Raghavendra and a shawl. He said that he would love to meet my family as well.'

Thaipusam and People Who Dont Go At That Day It Self...

Well, thaipusam is now here... sunday will be the day, saturday will be the fever... some even start earlier. Basically, Thaipusam will be the day where indian get together and pray the Lord Murugan! Its actually, The festival commemorates both the birthday of Lord Murugan (also Subramaniam), the youngest son of Lord Shiva and Parvathi.

Kavadi Attam is a dance performed by the devotees during the ceremonial worship of Murugan, the Tamil God of War It is often performed during the festival of Thaipusam and emphasizes debt bondage. The Kavadi itself is a physical burden through which the devotees implore for help from the God Murugan^.

^{Now come back to our topic, even so many years we celebrating this thaipusam... still got some people who dont like to go Batu Caves (Selangor @ or nearer place to them). Its not because of HINDRAF, coz its just happen on 2007. And that because they dont pray Lord Murugan.}

KUALA LUMPUR, WED:

Six men, one of them a wanted criminal, were arrested at the funeral today of a man who died in police custody, at the main entrance of the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) in Petaling Jaya.

Brickfields police chief ACP Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Talib said the 55-year-old criminal is suspected to have been involved in a murder case.

They were arrested between 12.15pm and 1.35pm for defying a police order to disperse from the UMMC from where the hearse carrying the body of A. Kugan, a suspect who had died in police custody left for a cemetery in Puchong, he said.

The five other men, aged between 39 and 52 years, were brought to the Brickfields police station to have their statements recorded and would be released on police bond soon, he added.

It is believed that one of the men is a coordinator with the outlawed Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf).
“All of them were detained under Section 186 of the Penal Code and the Societies Act for wearing the Hindraf T-shirt,” he said.

Kugan, 22, who was detained on Jan 15 at the Taipan police station on suspicion of being involved in the theft of luxury cars in Sungai Chua, Kajang, had died while being questioned.

Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar had said a post-mortem found that Kugan had died due to fluid in his lungs but Kugan’s family sought a second post-mortem, insisting that Kugan had died of injuries.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail said later that Kugan’s death had been classified as murder.

A second post-mortem on Kugan has been done at the UMMC since.

About 300 had gathered inside the compound and outside of the UMMC, and about 100 policemen including from the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) were on hand to monitor the crowd while a helicopter hovered above.

The hearse carrying Kugan’s body stopped at the Taipan police station for prayers and the funeral procession proceeded to the Batu 14 Hindu cemetery for the burial. Kugan was buried at 5.45pm.

Earlier, at the UMMC mortuary, those present included Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy, Teluk Intan MP M. Manogaran, Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo, Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and N. Surendran, the lawyer representing Kugan’s family.

The audio of AVM’s Suriya-Tamanna starrer Ayan is all set to be released on the 19th of January (Monday). The film is directed by cinematographer turned director K.V. Anand who has to his credit the much appreciated Kana Kandein. Music for the film has been composed by Harris Jeyaraj. Naturally, expectations surrounding the album are high, especially after the huge success of Vaaranam Aayiram. It is worth noting that Harris Jeyaraj has always delivered some lovely songs for Suriya starrers like Kaakka Kaakka, Ghajini and VA. He has composed six songs for Ayan.

It has also been reported that shooting of the film has been almost completed and that its release is not very far away. The cast and crew of Ayan should be appreciated for getting the movie ready in quick time.

Villu-Prabhu Deva And Vijay Combination again! However, this movie couldn't find chance to impress the people who watched this movie. Seriously, If vadivelu didn't do the track comedy in this movie (yes, the track has absolutely no connection whatsoever with the movie’s main plot), this movie will be boring x2!

After Kuruvi-this would be the second "hit" like the previous "kuruvi"... However i was interested to watch a movie Directed by Prabhu Deva. Pokiri was Great, am i rite? emmmm.... what to do!

Sylish movie : Billa = Ajith Kumar, Villu = Vijay? Cannot say, that stylish...Maybe for Vijay fans only!

When Aegan released, People said Raju Sundram (Prabhu Deva's Bro) dont know to direct a movie like his brother. and people were spreading news that Aegan is the flop film of the year ( even got some useless movies)... what i feel is, Aegan is much more better! Really!

Ok, come back to Villu, In simple way... vijay' dance as usual nice, choreograph by prabhu deva's juniors(5 person). My favorite song is "Nee kobapattal naanum..."

As i said before, Comedy all Super! Hats of for vadivelu and Prabhu deva! Even one of the track, they used CG (computer graphic) a cow fight with vadivelu, which is, some people said wasting time, but that was one of the comedy scene which make people laugh in theater. And the comedy scene where vadvelu dancing for kathazha kannale (anjathey) and Nakka Mukka is Superb!

the balance of the movie, no comment... fight, fly, and fight...

The accused being taken to the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: Five despatch riders were yesterday charged at the Sessions Court with raping a 15-year-old girl last month.

Roslan Rosly, 24; Mohammad Shahmir Nasir, 25; Norman Amat Salleh, 21; Mohd Affandi Tahir, 26; and Muhammad Syah Fawwaz Samsudin, 21, were charged with raping the girl in their rented apartment at Mentari Court, Taman Seri Mentari here on Dec 29.

Mohd Affandi and Muhammad Syah Fawwaz were also charged with two others -- Ahmad Faizal Ja'afar and Muhammad Rashikin Ab Rahman, both 25 -- with raping a 14-year-old girl at the same place and time.

All seven claimed trial to the charges.

All the accused, except Muhammad Syah Fawwaz, were represented by counsel Esther Tan Siew Choo. Muhammad Syah Fawwaz was represented by counsel V. Sri Kumar.
Prosecuting officer ASP Chang Chee Fong opposed bail, saying that the accused might harass the victims.

"The accused know where the victims live and there are possibilities that they will harass the victims."

Both lawyers pleaded for bail, saying that the accused would no longer live at their rented apartment but would stay with their families.

Judge Rozina Ayob granted RM6,000 bail each in one surety and warned the accused not to go near or harass the victims.

Fixing Feb 18 for mention, Rozina also ordered the men to report to the nearest police station once a month.

Singer Yogi B who has made his presence felt in the Tamil film industry with some spectacular songs, has been roped in to sing a song for the mammoth production 'Endhiran' that stars superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

A. R. Rahman who is the music director of the film has confirmed to Indiaglitz that Yogi B has indeed sung a song for the film. Moreover, he added that the Malaysian singer was in his studio a while back with regards to Endhiran. A. R. Rahman was working for the Aamir Khan starrer 'Ghajini' at that time. Though Yogi B was there was Endhiran, his services were used for a background score 'Run' that features in 'Ghajini'.

Everything about 'Endhiran' is shrouded with complete secrecy as is the case with every Shankar film. 'Endhiran' produced by Sun Pictures will be ready for release in 2010.

RM20 For One Movie ticket? Please la... Dont Chase Your Customers!

When i was thinking, about what to post today, and i recalled what i read in NST past this few days back, its like this...

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians will have to pay more to watch Hollywood films in the cinemas if a proposal by the Malaysian Film Producers Association is accepted by the government.

The association wants the ticket price for Hollywood movies to be hiked to protect local feature films.

Its president, Ahmad Puad Onah, said the higher ticket prices was among proposals the association would submit to the National Film Development Corporation soon.

"Our members agree that only by hiking the admission price of Hollywood movies will Malaysians go to watch local movies."

He said although the local film industry had been on an upward trend over the past two years, the current economic uncertainties had stunted growth.
"All six local films released during the school holidays have under-performed.

"One of the reasons cited for the poor performance is that they had to compete against Hollywood blockbusters."

The films -- Wayang, Selamat Pagi Cinta, Antoo Fighter, Los & Faun, Cicakman 2: Planet Hitam and Histeria -- had to compete against Hollywood big-budget movies such as The Day The Earth Stood Still, Bolt, Twilight and Madagascar 2.

Antoo Fighter and Cicakman 2: Planet Hitam, which had been expected to be a hit, failed to score with movie-goers, he said.

"We are sure that if ticket prices for local movies are reduced, more people will watch them."

Ahmad Puad said such a policy was in place in Indonesia.

"In Indonesia, the ticket prices for Hollywood movies are higher than Indonesian movies.

"It has helped the growth of the film industry."

He said the association would propose that ticket prices for Hollywood movies be increased to RM20. Now, ticket prices for all movies are between RM9 and RM12.

On why ticket prices for local movies should not be lowered instead, Ahmad Puad replied: "That will not be fair to our producers."

He said the move would give local films the edge when competing with Hollywood blockbusters.

"It is timely as some of today's locally-made movies are on par with foreign movies in terms of quality."

In fact, it would encourage local producers to invest more in their movie production, he said.

Other recommendations to be submitted included better incentives for filmmakers and a revision of the compulsory screening scheme.

He said 35 local movies were expected to be released next year.

"But if we follow the current scheme, only 22 films will get shown."

Under the scheme, only two local films are allowed to be screened a month. Also, no local movie will be screened during the fasting month.

Anyone will support for this decision?? RM20 one movie? will you wiling to pay? you prefer pirate vcds and dvds right? only rm8-rm10...

'Villu' directed by Prabhu Deva and starring Vijay will have its music album released on the 15th of December at a grand function.

Director Prabhu Deva is back to what he does best. WORK. Despite the tragic loss of his son Vishal recently, the ace dancer-turned actor-turned director reported for work to shoot the hero-introductory-song for the film 'Villu' that stars Vijay. Nayatara plays the heroine of the film.

Instead of cloistering himself in grief which could bring about immense grief and a sense of loss, Prabhu Deva decided to work his way out of turbulence. According to sources, it was ace actor Prakash Raj who suggested to Prabhu Deva that reporting to work would probably be the best thing to do at this stage.

Prabhu Deva's son is no more! SAD NEWS

Star, dancer master, and director Prabhu Deva's son passed away early this morning. Called Vishal at home, he was named Basavaraj, and had been suffering from cancer for a long time. Deva and his family had been fighting the disease with him, knowing Vishal would be taken away from them any day.

When he died this morning, Prabhu Deva said that hough he knew it would happen, he had hoped they would have more time with Vishal. Recently, he had even taken his son abroad on the Villu shoot to make him happy and fill him with memories. Theeyes05 offers its deepest condolences to Prabhu Deva and his family in this time of intense sorrow.

Indian troops have been searching a landmark Mumbai hotel, hours after killing the last gunmen holding out.

Commandos said they had killed three militants inside the Taj Mahal Palace in an assault on the huge building.

Wednesday's attacks on hotels, a rail station, a Jewish centre and other sites left at least 195 people dead.

India has blamed "elements with links to Pakistan". Pakistan has pledged to act against any group found to have links to the militants.

Funerals have been held for some of the dead including Indian anti-terrorist squad chief Hemant Karkare.

Crisis meeting

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been holding an emergency meeting with his armed forces and intelligence chiefs to discuss the Mumbai attacks.

Mr Singh has already said he believes a group based outside India was behind the killings and senior Indian politicians say the only surviving gunman to be captured is from Pakistan.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari pledged to act swiftly if given any evidence of involvement by Pakistani groups or individuals in the attacks.

His foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, condemned the attacks as "barbaric".

Earlier, Pakistan reversed a decision to send its intelligence chief to India to help with the investigation, following domestic criticism. It will instead send a lower-ranking representative.

The veteran villain beloved to so many generations of moviegoers, M.N. Nambiar passed away this afternoon (November 19th). He had been ailing for sometime in a hospital. What is striking about Nambiar is that he has acted with five generations of stars, from MGR to Vijay. Fierce on screen, he was pious and gentle in real life. He was born on March 7, 1919 in Kerala. He has acted in more than 1,000 films. Among his favorite films are the ones with MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, particularly Aayirathil Oruvan and Ambikapathi respectively.

When we say its a musical movie.. the credits automatically goes to Harris Jeyaraj! Of cause he have done
a marvelous job. The songs are hit and still in our ears. Especially, Adiyey (the electric guitar sound), Nenjekul, mundhinam and anjale song...

When we say this movie is a family base, the credits goes to the director first... and then the father character (surya@krishna), wow what a body language he applied in this movie! Well Done and Good Job! And then only the Son Character (surya@surya) with his six packs and his love-romantic emotion...still he is the man who won the hearts of the girls. About Surya nothing much to say, He has done a good job... he will rule the tamil industry, no doubt!

Simran comes a close second with her puffed eyes and refined articulation of emotions announcing that she is ageing gracefully. Sameera has a constant grin, which is adorable. But all she could come up with after seeing her stalker at her doorsteps in the US is a surprised expression after getting a scoop of her favorite ice cream unexpectedly. Surya – Sameera’s first meet in the train is well conceived and executed. Divya, however, is in her quietest form oozing loads of sophisticated attitude.

N othing wrong if i said that, this movie have some message for people who are not responsible for their country and their family! For example, about the smokers and the impact of smoking cigarettes, study and work in our own country, monitor your kids movements, listen to parents when they advise you... and still got more, when you guys watch the movie, you will know it.

However, i feel this movie drag the stories and kinda slow... its three hour long movie. Of cause people will have a high expectation of Gautham-Surya combination... Well i feel this one would be the different from the khaka-khaka movie. NO HIGH BEAT-ONLY HEART BEAT!

Dear all,

Gowtham Menon and I debuted together in 2001. Right from Minnalae, Khaaka Khaaka, Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu, Patchaikili Muthucharam and now Vaaranam Aayiram has been well received, and appreciated by the mass and media.

Apart from good films, these films helped to explore my versatility and showcased my talent to the world and kept me where I am today. By the grace of God we have given some of the best musical blockbusters, and never thought our combination would create such magic when we started our career and it still surprises us even after 8 years.... apart from others, his movies have played a vital role so far.

I have a very good respect for Mr. Gowtham Menon and in return he has reciprocated the same. But now things have gone sour that it's better for us to part ways as good friends leaving behind some beautiful memories. With a heavy heart I have to take this decision on behalf of us. I know this might disappoint my fans, music lovers and well wishers in the industry. But it's best for us to leave it at this, since I always believed that to create soul stirring music, the bond between a music composer and the director is vital. Once it's lost, it is difficult to get back.

So I take this opportunity to thank Gowtham Menon, our team, media and my fans who made the music of Vaaranam Aayiram a memorable album in the history of Tamil film music and I wish him all the best.

Gautham Menon's labour of love Vaaranam Aayiram is all set to hit the screens on November 14th. The premiere show of the movie scheduled for November 13th, is a charity show, the proceeds of which will go to the TANKER foundation in Chennai.

It is already known that the movie is based on the father-son relationship and is Gautham's tribute to his father. No birthday celebrations for Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan's birthday on November 7 is a day of celebration for his fans. But this year, the actor has urged them to skip the celebrations.

In a letter addressed to all the members and card holders of "our welfare association," the actor appealed to them to "refrain" from any celebration.

The reason he says is that "an individual's birthday loses credence or importance when genocide is practiced in our neighbouring island with renewed vigour." He was referring to the on-going conflict in Sri Lanka.

He further wrote in his letter, "Human civilization is 10,000 years old. It is not a job completed but a work in progress. Wars around the world are clear indications of this fact. Language, colour, caste or creed can no more be used as excuses for intolerance."

He admitted that though he was not qualified to offer solutions to the Sri Lankan problem, he "was sensible enough to refrain and restrain you from celebrations."

He also requested his fans to redirect their energies and enthusiasm towards human compassion on his birthday.

He ended the letter thus: "Many are dying for a reason so unbelievably simple. They speak the same language "Tamil" as I do. If my birthday can be used as a tiny fulcrum to leverage public opinion against this genocide, apart from the honour of gaining your love, I would have one more reason to be proud of my birth."

We all know that tamil websites is getting bigger now, and I feel it play an important role in determining public perspective. You have the great potential to make a huge impact on today's youngsters. Please pass this across to our youngsters.

Lots of youngsters in Tamilnadu are really good at heart, and are sentimentally and emotionally affected by cinema. I feel movies are meant more for entertainment, and that we need to watch it for our relaxation, whenever we are free from studies or work. It would be beautiful if every youngster is equally passionate about family, friends and our country's growth. I was very moved to learn from Behindwoods that one of Ajith’s fans wept because Aegan was a disappointment. Another Behindwood’s visitor wrote to ponder –quite accurately – how Kuruvi, a flop – could celebrated 150 days.

Whether Vijay, Ajith or Rajini, they are all very talented actors, which is why they are popular. They are also good human beings, which is why they do so many charitable things for society. Stars have been urging fans to also focus on studies and career, and not be too obsessed with cinema. My feeling is that fans should enjoy watching a movie if it is a hit, and if it is not, just let it go rather than become caught up with why it flopped, and how this might damage the star.

Once I too was crazy about movies and stars. But I was jobless then and didn’t even have money for food. I was searching for something in my life, and it was not to be found in cinema. It’s only because of my parents and friends I was able to survive. I understood it late and then I started concentrating on my career. Now I am well settled, and don’t want this aimless drifting and preoccupation with stars to affect the lives of other youngsters. I watch movies now, but strictly for their entertainment value.

Please friends, love your dear actors but don’t become crazy over them. Even your stars don’t wish that for you.

Smart work by Ultimate Star and he keeps up the laurels won with ‘Billa’. But, i do not know why some of the people saying that...this movie not same as the original version of...

'Main Hoon Na' was Farah Khan's intelligent characterisation of Shahrukh. (i not yet watch this movie)

I feel its nice and Wow about aegan! He(ajith) enthralls everyone with his unforeseen cuts and breaks in dance. His comedy quotients are excellent and his combo with Jayaram and Haneefa are humorous shows.

While Piyaa(cutegirl la..) and Navdeep (can dance well) are passable, the show-stealers are Nayanathara (thanks to her curves) and Jayaram (playing the bumbling college principal provoking quite a few laughs).

You guys for sure can have a good laugh in theater. If u cant laugh at a villain and at the other character, you probably are born without any sense of humor.

Song (already hit) + Visual= superb! Yuvan Rocks again and again!

Choreography by Raju Sundaram and sibling Prabhu Deva is excellent. But, i wanted to know which song is choreographed by Prabhu Deva and Nagindra Prasad. i Guess some in my mind... can anyone let me know the fact?

Yuvan Shankar Raja strikes the right chords with his music. The cinematography (credits shared by quite a few) is breathtaking.

As i told you guys, i haven't watch the original version, and i like this movie... its nice.
Some people are saying that Aegan not equal as the hindi one... If you also haven't watch the hindi 1, so go and watch this movie... hope you will like it.... you will like it, sure...

Buy new clothes ( boys= 3 XXL T-shirt and 1 kurtha, Girls= 3 Tight Jeans and 1 punjabi suit)
boys busy collecting money for "tanni @ suure tangkap la machan.."
girls busy asking for jewels and do facial.
Deepavali eve, Boyfriend busy mix drinks and for cheers, but girlfriend waiting for "his" 1st lovely deepavali msg...
Pattas (the illegal) things that must play until the neighbor shout and the police car reach that place. (nasi lemak and panthu pattas, Famous one)
Morning 8am, girls call and disturb the boyfriend who is slept at 7am... Angry answer the phone and tell " im going to temple, pls call me at evening"...(lying)
Finally collect the "angpau" and go enjoy with thier friends...such as watch new movie, go for lunch and deepavali closing ceremony "tanni @ whiskey, vodka, gin, rum , and tequila with kaigals...

After this whole things finish then only our kaigalz will think about their work and life....

Yuvan The Producer of Film

Surprising news it is! Yuvan Shankar Raja was widely known as he holds innumerable tunes at his disposal but the news that was incognito is that he had a script in him. A story that was envisaged by the music director is about to be made into a movie by his newly debuted production house Pearl Stone Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

In a press meet held today, the songster made this announcement. 'I always had the desire to see my creativity get life in celluloid. I long aspired to make a mark in this powerful media with my ideas which starts now. My left-out ideas through my music will be conveyed with the stories that I am proposing to write in the near future.' Says the most sought after music director, Yuvan.

SP Sabha, director of '16' which is under production is set to direct this first venture of Yuvan's production. Shiva of ‘Chennai 28’, ‘Saroja’ fame plays the main lead in this pipelined movie. A notable fact is Sabha is already directing Shiva in '16'.

Yuvan is presently working for a music album by Sony BMG and is confident that it will make it big on its launch. But he is not into playing cameo in his albums.

‘Aegan’ composed by him is out and receiving rave reviews. Padded with this present news, Yuvan has not one but two delightful reasons to celebrate this Diwali joyously.

This news will elate the fans of two Kollywood icons – Ajith and Vijay. Though their fans often compare them and treat them as competitors, Ajith and Vijay have proved often that they are very close friends and have rubbished the talks about competition between them. At film functions, they both are often seen sharing jokes and engaged in serious discussions, and this has become a common sight these days. They have great mutual respect and even take care that they do not hurt each others’ fans!

Recently, in one such display of care for Vijay’s fans, Ajith changed the name of Aegan’s villain. So its begin like this;

The deadly combo of Ajith-Yuvan is back with AEGAN after their blockbuster BILLA and are bang on target when it comes to the music. Yuvan Shankar Raja is on a high after back to back musical hits and is brimming with confidence which is purely visible with the music of AEGAN. This one is surely gonna rock.

Hey Salaa (Blaaze, Naresh Iyer, Md.Aslam)

A song that is gonna be hummed by thousands of THALA fans all over the world. The lyrics just portray that and Blaaze with his amazing rap is taking this song to the top of the charts. Naresh and Aslam do their bit in this rap oriented track with a beautiful flute piece interlude that pleases the listeners. . A chartbuster for sure.

Yahoo Yahoo (Suvi, Ujjaini, Satyan, Ranjith & Naveen)

A Youth oriented track with wonderful beats by Yuvan. Reminds the fun at the college. A peppy number with all the right ingredients to keep it playing in the hearts of youngsters. Wonderful music and renditions by all the singers. Yet another youth anthem from Yuvan.

Hey Baby (Shankar Mahadevan)

A superb love number sung wonderfully by shankar Mahadevan. The Salsa feel to the song works out really well. “Mallika i love u” is the chant that is gonna haunt all the lovers out there. Nice song with the right mix of instruments. Sticks to you on the first hearing.

Odum Varayil (K.K, Bela Shende)

A typical mass hero song. The lyrics fits in just perfect and is ready to make all Thala fans go haywire when he appears on screen for this song. K.K, back after a long stint does great work of what is bestowed upon him. The voice of Bela Shende requires some fine tuning. An anthem for all THALA fans.

Kichu Kichu (Vasundhara Dass, Yuvan Shankar Raja)

A sensuous number. Just imagine Nayanthara dancing to these tunes. Vasundhara Dass does a neat job with the feel and rendition. Amother song from Yuvan with heavy beats. Yuvan is at his best when he sings a line or two in this number. A song that is gonna leave many with sleepless nights drooling over Nayan.

Yuvan's bit in this song!("Come on baby girl, Mallika...ah...Can i bite you like, Nellika") WOW!!! and LOL!!!!

it would be an interesting battle at the box-office for Deepavali. The movies releasing to lighten up the festival include Suriya's ‘Varanam Aayiram’, Ajith-starrer ‘Aegan’( 9 Oct 2008 audio release), Madhavan's ‘Guru En Aalu’ and Bharath's ‘Seval’.

Interestingly, Dhanush's ‘Padikathavan’ and Silambarasan's ‘Silambattam’ have backed out of the race at the last moment. It looks likely that they would hit the screens in November. If you remember, previously Manmathan came along with Attakasam and Vallavan came along with God Father. Silambarasan has always been a fan of Ajith, and now he did not want to open his movie along with Aegan. Silambarasan has pushed the release date for a slightly later release. Saroja Review...Personal Review: Saroja ore Thriller'ana Maaja

Saroja....Saroja.... After an amazing outing chennai 600028, director Venkat Prabhu has come out with a taut thriller in Saroja. No doubt, this movie going to rocks the kollywood and tollywood and the rest. The movie is so nice man, with funny and thiller scene. Like his previous movie, this movie too is a fable of friendship, a story of emotions between pals and a tale of twists and turns (interesting adventure).

Music....Music.... Everyone said there are four male doing the lead role in this movie, and who is real hero? Yup, as some recognized Its Yuvan Shankar Raja is the hero of the movie. Even Venkat Prabhu mention it in one of his interview in Indiaglitz.com. YSR is another highlight of the movie with the background music (BGM) and the songs throb with energy. ‘Dosth Bada Dosth and Cheeky Cheeky’ is a well-made song in terms of music as well as picturization. Nimirnthenil is the energetic song of the movie, Wow really get energy man.

Director Venkat Prabhu has done quite a commendable job once again. He has managed to make a movie that combines action with comedy, without diluting the seriousness of the plot. After a full-fledged fun movie such as Chennai 600028, Venkat Prabhu has notched up one that has quite a fair share of twists, turns and pulse-racing moments. Even so, the comic streak that made his directorial debut a runaway success is what keeps Saroja alive and entertaining.

Dhaam Dhoom Review: Actually its "Dhumir Dhamar"

Movie: Why i said its Dhumir Dhamar? well its all about the ingredients in this movie which makes people surprise with the action(and gun shoots) in this movie and the BGM from non other than Harris Jeyaraj. Its cool and really match the movie's story.

Music: The main thing that i love in this movie is the lovely songs by HJ. He is wonderful with this album. i think , this movie no "ctrl+c and ctrl v". As you all know, i i already post the music review.

Plot: The film centers on a young doctor who falls in love with countryside missy and both get their parents. Soon after the betrothal, he fleets for Russia for a medical conference and in a land where English never enters, he is trapped in a serious trouble. No one is there to rescue him and of course he doesn’t know who has been chasing him. Relief comes to him in the form a young lady lawyer who is a Tamilian. Rest of the story is all about the next four days, how he gets out of the troublesome situation.

About Jayam Ravi: Pls dont expect sumthing like Santosh Subramaniam (if you heard it is a love-family story) and not also M.Kumaran (if you heard it is a action movie). The action scenes in this movie not equal as M.Kumaran s/o Mahalakhsmi. Less that actually. Acting good!

Heroins : Kangana Ranaut(Ok laa, sexy) and Lakshmi Rai(she is cool)...

M1: Well got one scene where Jayam Ravi jumping here and there to escape from the Russian police. There we have 1 scene which might recall you the super hit movie Kuruvi again. But in this movie, this kuruvi(Jayam Ravi) kena tembak(fired) at his chest. And wherever he go, the will be the Russian Police, the are not like tamil movie police, i think. chasing him like a dog( no other work, i think) until he goes crazy and attack back! well the chasing scene might bored you sometimes! anyway its depends on your opinion and thinking style!

As usual, go and watch this movie in theater and enjoy it, i hope that you will enjoy this movie.
Dont expect anything from their previous. this one totaly different and nice (wud b thrilling).

Anbae Anbae (Harish Raghavendra, Prasanna)

Harris starts off with a melody. No better person that Harish Raghvendra has rendered his vocals. A classy song, it has melody written all over it.

With a catchy interlude and typical Harris style of humming, the song sticks to our heart immediately.

Dhiku Dhiku (Benny and Sayanora)
A rhythmic and racy song in the album rendered by Benny and Sayanora. The peppy beats and the narrative lyrics deserve a mention. Benny continues his sublime form, while Sayanora is a surprise pocket in the song.

Pudhu Pudhu (Benny, (lock-up...Guna) and Suchithra)
No song of Harris is complete without a rap. This refreshing number has an English rap in the interlude and is a typical Harris composition.

An apt one for disco floors, the song has rock interlude in the middle.

Saghiyae (Krish, Jayashree)
The song of the album. Harris is at his best oozing with great energy in the number. Krish in the company of Jayashree elevates the listeners to new world.

Watch out for the musical interludes.

Uyilalo (Kailash Kher and Sujatha)
Watch out for the ethnic flavor in the number. A take off from Harris' previous earlier composition in ‘Anniyan’ (Andankakka), the song has Kailash Kher rendering it in the company of Sujatha.

Racy and lively number.

Aathiyilae (Haricharan)
A catchy bit song that grabs immediate attention. Haricharan is awesome as usual and the lyrics are equally good. Harris' mastery in coming up with good melodies is brought to the fore with the song.

As i know, many girls crazy with this song! emmm!!!

All said, it is a delightful album with Harris scoring all the way.

Malaysia's Anwar won 61 percent of vote

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's party said Tuesday its exit polls indicate he has won 61 percent of the votes in a by-election expected to return him to parliament.

"From our exit poll figures and what we are tracking, Anwar is safely leading in the polls and... I think that it is right to say about 61 percent," said Sivarasa Rasiah, vice president of the Keadilan party.

Sivarasa said that Anwar's opponent from the Barisan Nasional coalition, Arif Shah Omar Shah, had garnered about 39 percent of the vote.

"We are still not declaring victory as we will wait for the official election results from the Election Commission," he told AFP.

Polling booths opened at 8:00 am (0000 GMT) and are due to close at 5:00 pm. Official results are expected to be released by 10:00 pm.

Anwar has been widely tipped to win the vote in Permatang Pauh, an electorate in his home state of Penang which he held until he was sacked as deputy prime minister in 1998 and jailed on sodomy and corruption charges.

But political pundits said they will focus on the size of the winning margin, compared to that attained by Anwar's wife Wan Azizah Wan Ismail who held the seat during his political exile.

"We are expecting Anwar's win to be the same as big as when Wan Azizah contested but we think that it will be less in terms of absolute numbers due to it being a working day for many," Sivarasa said.

Wan Azizah won about 64 percent of votes cast in March general elections. The groundswell of support allowed the opposition to take control of five states and a third of parliamentary seats.

Turnout in March was 81 percent, but Keadilan information chief Tian Chua said only 60 percent of eligible voters had cast their ballot by mid-afternoon Tuesday, and that numbers from ethnic minorities were low.

"Chinese and Indian voters are not coming out as much as we had expected. This could be due to intimidation," he told AFP. "We are trying to round them up to come out and vote."

The opposition has accused the government of stoking tensions between Muslim Malays and the nation's ethnic minorities to try to undermine Anwar, by painting him as a "Chinese agent" who has sold out Malay interests.

Satyam Review : Personal Review : Satyam ithu ore Kodumai...

Donning the role of an honest cop is indeed a dream of most of the actors in Kollywood. Vishal has fulfilled it in 'Sathyam', a usual cat and rat story, however with interesting twists and turns from beginning to end.

Most of the people would go for this movie for the high build-up that have given recently... in fact some people wanted to see his (vishal) 6 packs abs and his action in it. Nothing wrong if i said he is good in action and dancing. however this movie not give good fight scenes and dance in songs.
A dozen of cuts in this movie, which can be said that the main factor of failure of this movie.
The cencor board cut fighting scene and 1 of the song tittled " Chellamay Chellamay", which people highly expected to watch. But, the song already removed ( im watched at GSC, Others cinemas im not sure about it).

Vishal in this movie have done 2 things, one is his six packs abs and another one is, he bold his head( Satyam'a).

Premji is appearance in this movie, will make u laugh... he has done a good job.

Some scenes will make you 2 feel that u got watch sumthing like this in some other movie, previous. And Satyam's BGM also make u feel same as above. from some other music director's scores. u watch and tell...

Well i dun wan talk much about this movie... its a normal movie...u all can watch it once.

The name Walt Disney evokes respect and admiration world over for quality films in both the animation and live action categories.

The latest news is that Walt Disney in association with Bharath Bala Productions will be producing a film in English titled '19 Steps'. The backdrop of the film would be martial arts and world audiences will get a taste of some exquisite Indian forms of combat like Kalaripayattu.

Kamal Hassan is slated to play a veteran Kalaripayattu expert who takes it upon himself to train a young Japanese man. Popular Japanese star Tadanobu Asano will play the young man and the story would revolve around his quests in life. Asin is to play a character most actresses around the world would die for….a local princess and a martial arts expert who finds herself falling in love with the Japanese lad in this period film. The film also traces the roots of Kalaripayattu.

The movie is expected to be filmed with a budget of $50 million and will have versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Japanese.

The story of the film is based on veteran Malayalam scriptwriter M. T. Vasudevan's earlier work. The writer is one of the highly respected personalities in India winning five National Awards for screenplay writing. However, Hollywood writers have been appointed to work on the script to make it compatible to international standards.

The film will be directed by Bharath Bala and will have music by A. R. Rahman.

Kuselan Review : Personal Review

Rajinikanth. The name is enough to evoke cheers and applause from movie-lovers. What if Rajinikanth appears as himself(as Ashok Kumar) on screen? The movie has been made in such a way that it would be a double delight for his fans who would cherish every moment of the movie.

‘Kuselan’ features Rajinikanth and Pasupathy(Balu) in lead roles. Pasupathy plays a poor barber. Meena(SriDevi) dons the role of his wife, while Nayantara plays herself in the movie.

Well as u all know, this movie is not 100% for our Super Star. Its divided, Pasupathy (50%), Vedivelu (25%), and Rajinikanth(25%) in this movie....

In simple words, the movie is about two childhood friends. One grows up to become a successful actor and other a barber who struggles to eke out his livelihood. What happens when they meet forms the crux? this will be the movie's story....

However this movie will have some fast beat(when Rajini's scene) and slow beat( when Pasupathy's scene)...Vadivelu's comedy will be the main factor which is not make you bored and make you laugh with his tickling comedy and face reactions. Emmmm, what i can say about Nayantara???? In simple word, she posing like in Billa, its just different clothes on her and her different style....For Nayantara fans, they would say "Savadi Nayantara". When you watch this movie, you will realize it for sure! Vadivelu's mouth also 1 kind after see her, you know!!! hehe!!!

Nothing to say much about the songs! i like Om Zaare and Chellema only...
Perinbakaran like one of the veyyil song actually! Cinema and charal song "ok" as well.

This is a Friendship Movie, somewhere in the end you might think like "veyyil" movie.....but it not actually! You guys will feel their friendship in this movie, and your friendship as well.
